This is my first post so please be gentle. I was just routing through
my cd cupboards and found some of the freebies that had been supplied
by CR. Hidden within are some truly wonderful songs and its through
these that alot of my new musical interests are alerted. Also lurking
in the cupboard were some of the freebie DVDs such as this months and
whilst something for free is better than nothing, I feel a little
cheated when one is included. I can't take into my car to listen to on
the way to and from work, I have to wait until I can get to watch TV
to see it in between princess and dragons or whatever the kids are
watching! Perhaps its just me but I would be interested to know if I am
on my own in this way of thinking.

I quite like both. If I am working away and stuck in a hotel for the
night i take the kids portable DVD thing and watch the freebie in
peace, but I know what you mean about getting time to watch at home. If
I see monsters Inc one more time I may top myself. I don't listen to
the free Cds all that much either as I am more of a whole album kind of
girl than a compilation. That said, there has been some good stuff on
there over the years,

I agree with Frispy. I do most of my listening in the car. Being able
to watch a cd means an empty peaceful house and I dont get many of
those very often

I'm with you guys.
I just dont get time to watch DVD's and on the rare occassiosn that I
do there are a whole load fighting for pole position. And then my TV
loudspeakers are poor. Is it really worth having a rock DVD ?
Not for me I am afraid.
CD every time please.
And I must say that, appart from the Prog and the recent Zep covers
ones I generaly appreciate the freeby CD's they are generally very good.

CD every time. I haven't even watched this month's yet and can't see mnay opportunities to settle down and watch/listen to it without Mrs Rob tuting away at my taste in music in the bakground or my four year old trying to hit me in the nuts with his new toy cyberman or my seven year old moping about like a teenager six years early.

At least with a CD I can shove it on, plug headphones in and rock on in peace.

I quite like both, although the CDs are more convenient.
It can be nice to sit back and relax with a mucis DVD, especially if
the contents is varied!
In fact the first issue of CR i ever bought came with a free DVD, i
liked that, it was a great addage to the fab mag i only spent £3 odd
on and read cover to cover in 1 day. Its part of what got me
hooked...and cost me money following up on the bands i saw on the disc.
But the CDs do that too lol

Either way, free is free, and ill take what they give, or sell,
whatever
