Howdy Fellow Squaremonters,

I totally agree with the man who wrote about the blight down at the bottom of Clairemont Drive.  How about doing some kind of protest to wake up our representatives?  I know you would get some support.   I would also like to know if anybody else is tired of the lack of quality restaurants around the Keils shopping center.  All we have is Hometown Buffet, Mountain Mikes and Mexican takeout.  Give me a break!  Can't we get a Wahoo Fish Taco or Pick-up Stix for a little more variety?  There must be someone in this community with the experience, money and guts to open up something with a little more style and quality.  Thanks

Yes Canyonlook! Clairemont is a food desert. I'd like to see something great open in the vacant restaurant across from Same Old Grind. Someone tried a Mexican/Sushi restaurant in there. I'm not shock that didn't last. Yuck...
Here's an idea. Why doesn't someone open a gastropub with local micro-brews and great food and some hip bands playing on the weekend? That model is blowing up in North Park, OB and other areas of SD.

BTW: There is a Pick-up Stix in Clairemont Square next to TJmaxx if you don't mind driving a couple minutes.
Cheers!

Your gastropub idea is going to happen on Morena Blvd at Jellett, just a quick ride down Clairemont Drive...Dan Diego's, should open early Feb. It's a local family that owns it too, gotta love the local businesses!
