Greetings Sub-region F!
Are you excited about the 2008-2009 year getting off to a great start? I know I sure am! Below you will find each district's 2008-2009 District Goals and suggestions on how you and your club can contribute to helping your district reach for the stars. Enjoy and I hope to see many of you in Denver, Colorado!

 

CAPITAL DISTRICT:
Goal: To obtain a minimum of a 5% increase in membership by March 31, 2009 over the April 1, 2008 membership numbers.
Suggestion: Check out the Circle K International Club Recruitment & Retention Guide for great ways to market your club!

 

Goal: To obtain an average of 30 CKI service hours per member from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009
Suggestion: Educate your members early on and team them What a Service Hour is and create a club service hour tracker and prize program. For every service hour a member completes your club can give one raffle ticket and at the end of the semester raffle off some sweet CKI gear from www.circlek.org!

 

Goal: To build a playground in the Capital District by March 31, 2009 as part of a campaign to promote the 2008-09 District Project "Shaping Up" a focus on Health & Physical Fitness Awareness.
Suggestion: Submit a Tomorrow Fund grant to help build a park in your local community.

 

 

NEW ENGLAND DISTRICT

Goal: The amount of money fundraised for district projects [combined]: $8,500.
Suggestion: Try out joint fundraisers with Kiwanis.

 

Goal: The number of community service hours for the district: 15,600
Suggestion: Educate your members early on and team them What a Service Hour is and create a club service hour tracker and prize program. For every service hour a member completes your club can give one raffle ticket and at the end of the semester raffle off some sweet CKI gear from www.circlek.org!

 

Goal: The number of Circle K members at InterNECK: 80
Suggestion: Create a slideshow of pictures from last year's InterNECK to get members excited about the service, leadership, and fellowship weekend!


 Goal: The number of Circle K members at District Convention: 100
Suggestion: Encourage members to go to DCON by asking different departments and your Student Government for funding to help alleviate the costs per member.


Goal: The number of total members of the district: 420

Suggestion: Spice up your recruitment efforts by using the CKI Graphic Standards!

 

Goal: The number of new clubs chartered: 4
Suggestion: Have your club builders join the Circle K International Club Chartering Network on Facebook to share and gain ideas, suggestions, and resources on club building.

 

 

NEW JERSEY DISTRICT:

Goal: Membership Goal of 309 by March 31, 2009
Suggestion: Call 1-800-KIWANIS ext 411 to order 100 free colored CKI brochures for your fall clubs/organizations fair!

 

Goal: Service Hour Goal of 8,675 by March 31, 2009
Suggestion: Educate your members early on and team them What a Service Hour is and create a club service hour tracker and prize program. For every service hour a member completes your club can give one raffle ticket and at the end of the semester raffle off some sweet CKI gear from www.circlek.org!

 

Goal: Projects for the year: Habitat for Humanity – building as many houses as we can and try to build one in Past Governor Gina's name; Governor's Project – Martha's Fund – as many walks as we can set up; Locks for Love – one member per club will donate their hair at DCON; Natural Disasters – donating goods and collecting at district events, and Six Cents
Suggestion: Check out the helpful guide on How to Plan a Service Project.

 

Goal: Fundraising Efforts: Children's Specialized Hospital - $1,500, Gina's Scholarship - $1,050, Brian C. Kull Foundation - $1,005, Dystonia - $1,000 and Tomorrow Fund - $1,000 for a total of $5,555 for the year
Suggestion: Try out joint fundraisers with Kiwanis.

 

Goal: To be strong, united, together, and successful during this year!
Suggestion: Check out the Circle K Club Events Guide for ideas on how to foster, service, leadership, and fellowship through club events!


NEW YORK DISTRICT:

 

Goal: To have 28 clubs in good standing, with three of those 28 being re-activated clubs
Suggestion: Have your club builders join the Circle K International Club Chartering Network on Facebook to share and gain ideas, suggestions, and resources on club building.

Goal: To have each club participate in five Kiwanis Family Projects
Suggestion: Plan ahead and create a game plan with your local Kiwanis Family branches on how to celebrate and serve on Kiwanis One Day. You can even order a Kiwanis One Day T-Shirt to show your pride!


Goal: To have each member perform an average of 40 hours of service
Suggestion: Educate your members early on and team them What a Service Hour is and create a club service hour tracker and prize program. For every service hour a member completes your club can give one raffle ticket and at the end of the semester raffle off some sweet CKI gear from www.circlek.org!
