Some of you are already on
Citizens for Justice in the Middle East's Facebook group. It grows by the day, with people posting from all over the world, not just here in Kansas City. I'm not savvy enough to tell you how to go to it directly, but I do know you can join from our website
(www.cjme.org).
A good site to keep up with Palestinian statehood and other issues, including Israel's teetering relationship to Turkey, is
www.mondoweiss.net. News and views from all over, an excellent resource.
A few of us plan to attend the
Sabeel Conference Oct 14-15 in Ankeny Iowa. It looks like an inspiring one. Check out the plenary speakers as well as the workshops at
http://afsc-iowaconference.org/index.html One of the workshops is by
Josh Ruebner of the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. Josh has spoken twice here in Kansas City. Another workshop is by
David Wildman of the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. He has also spoken here in Kansas City. Ankeny is about three and a half hours from KC.
CJME has regular monthly meetings, usually on the first Monday, but this month due to Labor Day we're meeting September 12 at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS at 7 PM. You're welcome to attend. There are hundreds of groups like ours all over our nation dedicated to the idea that peace in the Middle East is good and moral and a benefit to everyone, and that yes, we can make a difference.
Thanks, All. Andrea
