Subject: KC Sabeel Conference Participants Inspired by Speakers

Our Sabeel Conference October 20-21, 2006 at Village Presbyterian Church
can be described as a gathering of peace-loving people searching for a deeper
understanding of the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict.

Comments on the conference are uplifting.  Many attendees filled out
their forms at the church; several others have emailed us.

     To quote a few...

What did you find helpful?

...."authentic voices" of Palestinians and Israelis..Cia V.
....availability of materials for future study..Joyce G
....having Jewish voices present, i.e., Rabbi Levin, (Rick) Hellman,
(Jeff ) Halper.
              Mennonite member
....the way the days moved so smoothly and serenely through the
program..Mary Alice

availability..Joyce G.

sides..Harriet S.
     ....examples of nonviolent strategies..Margie

....insights from people with extensive experience in this area..Keith B.

What was not helpful?

.... no information on how to get involved locally..member of Jewish
faith
     .... missed Naim Ateek..Sue D.
....no time to brainstorm and post process..Bill B.
....almost too many choices..couldn't go to everything..Elaine B.

Suggestions for future events

....more honest dialogue between Jewish, Christian and Muslim groups in
K.C.
             Mennonite member
....need to get evangelicals and Jewish people to attend..Mahnaz S.

congressional
             aides..Cotton F.

....keep providing good info on what is actually happening..Joyce G.

Some additional words of appreciation

....The (Sabeel) conference was a significant spiritual event for
me..Reverend Tom Are
....The best part (of conference) was having a good number of Israeli
Jews and American
Jews speaking a word of justice for the Palestinians...Reverend
Fahed Abu-Akel

Closing with a few statistics provided by Ginger Oct. 24, 2006:

366 total registered for both days
