The recently formed Dayton Broomball Association (who has sent the
Dayton BuckIce to play in the CBA Intermediate league this season) has
a Spring league during CBA downtime (between the end of winter league
and beginning of Summer Broomball). I'm planning on traveling up there
to play, so I figured I might as well see if I could round up a team
(or two or three) to make the trip with me.
If anyone else has already started doing this, let me know, maybe we
can work together on this... or, if you are planning on taking your
whole team up, have your captain contact me.
Here are the important pieces of information:
1) Games are played Monday nights at 6:00, 6:45, 7:30, and 8:15 (they
will do their best to accommodate us because of our drive, i.e., we
can request later times), and the season is 8 games long going from
March 17 to May 5.
2) Games are played at South Metro Sports (www.smetrosports.com)
located at 10561 Success Lane, Centerville, OH 45458.
3) It looks like there will be two skill divisions (even though the
website currently says one).
4) Rules are the same as the CBA rules, and cost will be similar as
well.
So, if you are interested, please email me with the following
information:
1) Your name (and gender... yes, some of you have androgenous sounding
names!).
2) What teams you played on in the CBA (and your own assessment of
your ability level).
3) What position(s) you can/want to play.
4) What times you can/can't make games.
5) If you are signing up with other people that you want to play on
the same team with, give me their names (they should also send me
emails, though).
6) If you think you will be missing more than 1 game during the
season, let me know.
I have no idea how much interest this will generate, and if we get
enough people for multiple teams, I'll form the teams, but I'll need
other people to take over as Captains for the team(s) I'm not playing
on (so if you are willing to do that, let me know). Also, if we have
some leftover people who don't fit on a team, we can always throw you
into the free agent pool and you can play on one of the Dayton teams.
And PLEASE get back to me as soon as you can, as we need to let Jeff
and the Dayton crew know how many teams we are bringing.
Before I forget... I can be reached at mikekra...@gmail.com
in the week since Iv'e sent out this message, we've had a pretty good
response to the Dayton league. The CBA is sending two teams to play
in the upper skill-level division (called "competitive" on the Dayton
Broomball website).
If anyone else is interested in playing, NOW is the time to tell me as
I'm finalizing rosters in the next couple of days.
We especially NEED 1 more GOALIE!!! Even if you can only play part-
time, we will likely take you! Our games are most likely to be at
7:15pm or possibly 8:00pm.
There is also likely room for a couple more full-timers, or a few more
part-timers. It will be first-come/first-served, so let me know ASAP
before we fill up!
Thanks,
-Mike

Sorry for the extra email, one last comment I forgot to put in the
last message.
I sent out an email tonight to everyone who responded to me about
playing with more specific team information (except for the Nati Icer
players, as I've just been in contact with Chris Grote about you
guys)...
so, if you think you already sent me an email or spoke to me about
playing, and you did NOT get that email, please let me know ASAP so I
can get your name down on the roster and add you to my mailing list.
(Once again, this does NOT apply to Nati Icers as Chris Grote and I
are in contact about all of you guys.)
