Subject: Calling all Checkers
Summary:
On Jan.4-6, 2008 the CBA is planning to send two teams (men & women)
to a broomball tournament in Syracuse New York.

There are 3 types of people I'm looking for:
a) Veterans who will bring their experience to the ice.
b) Players ready for the "next level" of broomball
c) Roadies who are interested in joining the caravan, taking pictures,
documenting the event, and partaking in all the off-ice festivities!

If you are either of these types please send me your contact info.
(name, phone, email)

Background
CBA sent teams here for several consecutive years, but the recent CBA
"Baby Boom" put a dent in our attendance record for the last couple
years.

This is a fast-paced "checking" tournament.  If you don't fancy
yourself as an "advanced" player, this is probably not for you.  On
the other hand, if you're a glutton for punishment - that will work
too.  Otherwise - support your CBA brethren as a "Roadie" instead!

I've personally spoken to several folks to gauge interest, while many
are like "Definitely - let's do this thing!" there's also the general
"uh, maybe - I'm not sure... we'll see" kind of response.  Well,
there's only a couple spots left on the bracket - and we need to
confirm with the tournament organizer ASAP!.

Details:
Date: Jan 4-6 2008.
Cost: The fee is 225 per team.  If 12 folks per team - that's less
than $20 to play, plus gas/beer/food/beer/hotel/beer.
Hotel: There is a holiday inn nearby, which has a discounted rate for
the teams. We'll make reservations as a group once we get the # of
rooms needed.
Travel:  It's about a 9 hour drive from Cincy to Syracuse. If you have
an SUV / van that can seat 4+ folks - please try to consolidate.  I'll
provide a detailed trip itinerary to everyone once the details are
sorted out.

FYI - we just received our official CAN-AM tournament packet.
Apparently, they've changed this tournament to a NON-CHECKING format
for both Men's and Women's.

So for those of you who were turned-off by that facet, perhaps you'll
change your mind now.  We have several people for both Mens & Womens
spots committed, with more on the fence.  If you want in - please let
me know ASAP!
