Hey Dave-

Per our discussion on Startup Weekend, here's a blurb you could send
out to your listserv:

Startup Weekend is back in Cincinnati – November 9, 2012! If you're
not familiar, Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event where developers,
designers and business development folks come together to pitch an
idea and launch a business, all in one weekend. It is a great
opportunity to test startup ideas, meet potential co-founders, build
the community in Cincinnati and launch your next startup! For more
information and to register for the event visit:
cincinnati.startupweekend.org

And the SW CIncinnati organizer, Tim Metzner, offered a discount! It's
in the attached document.

Talk soon!
Best,
Roanne

Sure!

Attached is a one-pager for them, including a discount code for their
members to register.

I imagine a suit-clad type saying "here techie techie!  Want some candy?"

I just signed-up to attend (at the HIVE discount). It could be
interesting. Hope to see y'all there.

Do you think they'd be interested to have us bring Galileo's Finger
just for the fun of it? It sort-of fits their theme too and could be
great marketing for the HIVE into this community. What say you?

FYI - I had a follow-up with Roanne and she's has agreed to be the
Nov. 13 2nd Tuesday guest speaker. She'll talk on Centrifuse and
related events including this Startup Weekend event. I've also made
contact with Vance VanDrake (patent attorney in the Cincinnati office
of Ulmer & Berne LLP, practices in the intellectual property area)
about possibly being a future 2nd Tuesday speaker.

Go Jim Go!  I'm going to try to make it for both talks.  Great job continuing to recruit interesting speakers!
