I thought someone posted bout getting the makerbot back into some resemblance of shape a few weeks ago though I've never used it , I'd be very interested in playing and learning 3d printing myself as well :)  been tossing around the idea of actually buying one but be fun try something out before getting one.

I think the MakerBot still has some issues.  Jon Neal will probably chime in here in a second.
