pileated woodpecker, bald eagle sighting

Hello all:

With all of the deer hunting going on around us, I was surprised to
see anything of note yesterday. Imagine my surprise to see an
immature bald eagle perched along S. Denman Road on the way over to my
mom's...which promply flew off as soon as I stopped to grab my camera
from the back seat of my car. Bummer. Then in the afternoon, I heard
quite the chatter of an agitated Pileated Woodpeck in our timber quite
near to the house. I grabbed camera again, but it flew off into the
neighbors woods, and since I didn't have blaze orange on, and didn't
want to be mistaken for a deer, I declined to pursue further
observation!
