WishList for the Future versions of ChucksList

Hi to All,

First of all, let me thank and congratulate the great developer team
of ChucksList for putting such an interesting project and helping the
Rails and Ruby Community with their skills and efforts.

It would be nice if there is a fix section on WishList for future
versions of ChucksList so that the requirements/expectations/etc does
not get spreaded elsewhere on the forum, which finally creates lots of
ugly distraction and lack of attention, since all threads / wishlist
are spreaded under different headings.

Kindly post your WISHLIST under this section only, so that
administartors can keep a track on this PLUS there is no duplication
of Feature WishList.

Hope, all developers will like this idea and support it.

Great idea for a discussion thread.
In the ChucksList archive there is a file called CHUCKSLIST-TODO,
which says the following:

TODO for v0.2 and beyond (in no particular order)
-------------------------------------------------
1. Add search feature on main chuckslist page (user end)
2. Add search feature in Admin user management page (admin side)
3. Clean up model and controller code
4. Add some form of CAPTCHA authentication for posting
5. Add Javascript validation to confirm email address when posting an
ad (or else redirect them back to the form in a way that is neat and
prevents data loss)
6. Add RSS feed for each category (instead of just a main one)
7. add ability to upload image(s) with your ad
8. add more tests (we started strong but then got sidetracked)
9. should we consider making ChucksList an ENGINE
10. ability to flag posts as spam/miscategorized/etc.
11. do more to enforce banned authors (ban the IP?)
12. enhance functions for managing authors and ads in admin section

Obviously I can't guarantee that all of this will make it into the
next release of ChucksList. This is just the list of features that
Kevin and I still wanted to include when we decided to release
v0.1. :)

Please feel free to list any other features you'd like to see in an
upcoming release. We will consider everything.

However, please keep in mind that the intent of ChucksList is to be a
classified ads application similar in functionality to CraigsList;
there are an infinite number of features we could theoretically ad,
but not all of them might be appropriate based on our intent with the
project.

Would love to see this as an engine. That would make things easy and
fun.

Unless I'm missing something where does the captcha'd member-to-member
email notifications via actual email or anonymous come into play?
