- shows recent tweets in the toolstrip - fetches new tweets every 5mn - linkifies http://links, @usernames and #hashtags - uses oauth to sign in, so you don't need to give it your twitter password - stores the access token as a bookmark, since we don't have local storage yet (click the bookmark to sign out!)
I've attached the zipped source too, in case anyone wants to play around with it. Cheers,
After clicking OK twitter.com opens, i clicked allow, a number
appeared 1sec and twitter.com closed. And now...mh...
"Fetching tweets..." ... it doesn't stop... Tried to install it
several times... nothing...
Can someone help me?

now, after installing and uninstalling the plugin a bunch of times,
seems like it has stopped working at all.
I am correctly redirected to the oauth twitter page, but it stays
there and it doesn't get bookmarked.
As a side note, the page doesn't appear in bookmarks even when the
page itself closes after 1 second, which i suppose is the correct
behavior.

It doesn't work for me. I dunno if it's an OS problem or a recent
version problem. I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit and Google Chrome from
the dev-build (3.0.198.1).
It just stays there, Checking credentials...

Indeed! I only learned this while reading on the Google Chrome
Releases, and noticed that they mentioned something about Linux and
chrome://extensions
Anyhow, as a reminder for other readers who -- as I did -- might not
know how to enable extensions in Linux, you have to modify the
launcher or menu item so that the command contains the following
option: --enable-extensions
Also, plugins and user-scripts can be enabled as well: --enable-
plugins --enable-user-scripts
And any user-scripts you want to use you have to download and place in
~/.config/google-chrome/Default/User Scripts
Btw, thanks for the updated version Nick.

Rolando

Hi,
I work on the extensions team, so I probably shouldn't be collecting
donations for this, but looks like a cool opportunity for other extension
developers!

I'm not sure if it's because I'm running Windows 7 (official, build
7600), but I could not get past "Checking credentials..." I ended up
installing it on my xp machine at work and then copying the bookmark
token to my home machine and that got it working. So I'm good now, but
if you want any info about my machine to try and figure it out I can
provide it.
Also (I tried digging through the code but couldn't figure out), I was
wondering how many tweets it saves to scroll through, and if this can
be changed.
Thanks,
Chris

1. rotate through the users entire timeline once
2. then only display new tweets (ones not shown before) starting 3min,
30 seconds (the time it takes to
rotate through the timeline once, assuming the timeline contains
20 items + 10 seconds)
Should I post this somewhere for others if they are interested? here?

Very cool, feel free to post your variation!
I'll be making some significant UI changes to match the new APIs, so I'm not
sure it makes sense to integrate your changes into the current extension
right now.
