Not sure why I have this problem, but apparently Chrome doesn't seem
to be checking for new updates... I go to Tools >> About Google Chrome
and I get a dialog similar to what I see on all the screenshots, but
there is no message at the bottom telling me whether it is up to date
or not...
I had to download the installer again to update my Chrome
installation, and once again, if I go to "About Google Chrome", I can
see that I have the latest version (.29) but I don't get a message
saying "Chrome is up to date" or something like that....
My guess is that you are using Vista and you have disabled UAC. We are working on making on-demand updates for Chrome work when you have UAC disabled. Until then, you can either temporarily enable it while you update Chrome _or_ simply wait - since background updates still work even with UAC disabled. Best regards, Finnur

Thank you for the quick reply! You were right, I do have Vista with
UAC disabled...
It's really no big deal though, I'm checking this group often anyway
so I know when an update is up and I can do it manually! :-)
Just wanted to know what was wrong with my Chrome ;-)
