Hey there:
Back from China, and slowly ridding myself of jetlag. I've got a new
Capitolism column up called "Climate Fog," about the disconcerting trends in public opinion *away* from a belief in human-caused global warming.
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20091221/hayesAlso: next week we're launching a new podcast called
The Breakdown. The idea is that every week readers such as yourself send me questions about the week's news. The more specific and factual the better: "What would happen to people that work at small businesses under the house health bill?" "What's the budget reconciliation process?" "How come Republicans don't have to actually talk, Jimmy Stewart-style on the floor of the senate when they filibuster."
I'll take a question (or, possibly, a few) and just....answer them. In some cases, I'll bring in guests with special expertise to help explain. The whole idea is to elucidate and explain things that are going on in Washington that haven't been well-communicated.
So please; send me your questions. It'll be a weekly thing and I'll be reminding readers about it on my twitter feed, available here:

Finally, I have to pass along this funny, compassionate, pitch perfect speech on gay marriage from New York State Sen. Diane Savino. Staten Island should be proud.
