Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

If you really want to hear some Godly advice, then it is
better not to get married. (1 Corinthians 7:8) If you want
to get married, then you need to follow my ungodly advice.
You need a lot of money and good appearance. This applies
to both men and women. I know my ungodly advice really
hurts. My own advice really hurts me a lot too. My former
girlfriend is a plus-size woman, and she is not rich. Now,
she left me after I was demoted from my job for not drinking
alcohol during our office parties. She always complained
about my appearance, and she even wrote an essay on how
I should lose weight. Please do not take this advice as if I
am trying to hurt you. I am trying to help you.

This is how most men thinks:

50% appearance
30% money, education, and family background
20% faith and personality

This is how most women think:

50% money, education, and family background
30% appearance
20% faith and personality

I think both men and women are sinners. They sin differently,
but they are no different in terms magnitude.

This is how I think:

60% faith and personality
35% appearance
5% money, education, and family background

If I were to think like most men, then I would not have dated
my former girlfriend.

I am making a sweeping generalization. I know. However, if my
generalization is not true, then how in the world do we have a 50%
divorce rate in the US while there is a 45% divorce rate in Korea?

Your Digital Jedi Knight in Christ,
Joseph Yosuk Lee

Prayer Requests:

1. Please pray for my mother, father, and younger brother
Richard that they will worship our Jesus as their Savior and
Lord.

2. Please also pray that they will also realize both money
invested and time invested building relationships with
people for God's glory is eternal.

3. Please pray that my father will not have any serious heart
problems after he had his heart attack on September 1, 2001.

4. Please pray for my success at Samsung by publishing
more papers and patents. Please pray for my health by losing
more weight and by exercising 4 times per week.

5. Please pray that I will tame my foolish tongue in terms of
arguing with my father, mother, and younger brother related to
the Bible, church, God, finances, and other issues of pride.

I have not responded for quite a while, but I must say that you are
very self-absorbed and you are NOT following the Word of God.
_________________________

His Word says... DO NOT be ANXIOUS for anything! Most of your posts
drip of anxiety and normally with regards to "getting married".

Philippians 4:6  "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer
and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to
God."
_________________________

His Word says that if we are NOT anxious but we ARE thankful, God will
give us unbelievable PEACE. He will GUARD our hearts and thoughts!

Philippians 4:6  "And the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ
Jesus."
_________________________

His Word tells us the things that we SHOULD be thinking about.

Philippians 4:8  "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true,
whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever
things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think
about these things."

Based on your posts, it appears as though you are NOT thinking about
the things God tells us to think about.

Hi Joseph
We spoke recently regarding myself being a member of the LDS church.
Often, people associate LDS with Polygamy.
This however is misleading.
It's the FLDS FUNDAMENTALIST LATTER DAY SAINTS who practise Polygamy, not THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS.
We are clearly a family church.
Members don't just attend church service on a Sunday and that be that until the following Sunday. Members attends / do:
1. Attend many other church services other than sabbath day services.
2. Home / visiting teaching. That is visiting active / inactive members sharing a message or two with each other, assisting with chores around the house etc.
3. Assist missionaries.
4. Assist members on  occasions other than during home / visiting teaching.
5. More can be added aswell

Many people become against the church because of one or more of the following:
1. We don't drink any form of alcohol.
2. No smoking tobaccos
3. No taking of illegal drugs.
4. Paying 10% of ones income to the church by means of tithing. This money DOES go towards good causes.
5. No members, regardless of callings, get monies for their duties unlike Priests in certain sects / faith.
6. Dress standards while attending Sunday services and any MAIN church meetings outside of Sundays. Casual dress standard is fine for institute, activities, celebration get togethers etc.
7. Keeping the sabbath day fully holy, this also includes non employment on the sabbath bar emergency services and the like.
People who put their mind to the Lord for a Sunday service only but then be like any form of casual character whether teenagers to the extent of OAP's outside of the church ARE NOT living to the scriptures fully enough, thus, why attend Sunday service unless you / anyone intend being righteous day after day.
Jeff
We members of the LDS are a seven day a week group, not a one day a week group.

Greetings Jeff,

Your portrayal of the reasons most Chrsitians reject Mormonism is
highly over-simplified and your statement about polygamy being
relegated to the fundamentalist Mormons is only partially true.

The LDS church's position in the not so distant past has been that of
a polygamy requirement.

However, lets look at more fundamental beliefs that differ True
Christianity from Mormonism.
_______________

Mormonism - Jesus was the first born son of Elohim (God) through
sexual relations with one of his spirit wives.

Biblical Christianity - Jesus was ALWAYS God and was eternally
existant with the Father and the Holy Spirit which make up the
Trinity.
_______________

Mormonism - The plan of salvation for this earth. The counsel of the
gods met on the planet Kolob (spelling may be wrong) to decide on the
plan of salvation for this earth.

The Mormon Jesus presented his plan and Lucifer (the second born son
of Elohim through sexual relations with one of his spirit wives and
therefore, Jesus' brother) presented his plan.

Jesus' plan was accepted and Lucifer's was rejected. Lucifer rebelled
and took one third of the heavenly host with him. Lucifer and his
followers were cursed with black skin.

Biblical Christianity - The Triune God had a plan of salvation.
_______________

To be fair, the Mormon church has changed its scriptures many times
over the years and no longer teaches that black skin is the curse.
Their Book of Mormon has been changed in the various places that
taught that they would not be accepted until they becam "white and
delightsome". These passages now read "pure and delightsome".
_______________

You see Jeff, there is far more that separates True Christianity from
Mormonism that simply polygamy.
