Alan Scott's review in Monday's PRESS said: Distraction Camp… "has at its heart a delicious contradiction whereby sensuous, bizarre, exotic and theatrical images uncover an arid, soulless world. In a universe of endless distraction, life is meaningless, mindless walking in a desert of commercial plenty. [...] I hand it to Peter Falkenberg and his cast for crafting such a theatrical account of intellectually complex concepts. This is not easy theatre to watch and understand, but it is interesting theatre. I wish there was more like it."

Free Theatre's previous show FAUST CHROMA, which explored similar themes (with the same actors, designer, musicians and director), has recently been nominated for the Chapman Tripp award for MOST ORIGINAL PRODUCTION OF THE YEAR. The awards ceremony will be held in Wellington this coming Sunday, December 6th.
