Motorcycle Cover

Anyone have a link / suggestion for a durable (non-tearing), all
weather (rain / snow) motorcycle cover that is designed for general
AND trailer use?

I did some searching myself but am uncertain as to what I'm getting in
regards to money spent. Some are over $100. Others are under $30. All
I care about, really, is the end product.

Strong, weather protective and multi-purpose.

Hey Robin,

I've had my bike outside for three chicago seasons with this cover:

Never saw a scratch on it while the cover was on. Its strong and vents well.  Its stood up to 3' of snow, summer hail, crazy rain storms and strong winds...and my bike has come out perfect everytime. The only time I've had to replace it is when someone stole it off my bike. Highly recommend it.

As far as for trailers....Don't put a cover on a bike when its on a trailer. More damage will be done.

 I have never had a cover of any kind that held up well on an open trailer. Motorcycles are made to stand up to weather. I take some extra precautions like using a strip or two of duct tape over the fuel tank cap and using plastic bags either rubber banded or clamped over the carb intakes (if you have a ducting to an airbox that shouldn't be necessary) and never had a problem other than having to wash the bike on arrival.

 There are rather elaborate (read that also as expensive) covers designed for trailering I have seen for sale at Vintage Iron but really aren't necessary so not worth the price. Spend your cash on good tie down straps and bring a stack of old towels and the cover will never be missed.

 That's my 2 cents worth anyway.

I bought a number of covers for my collection of 'projects' that tend to
sit on my driveway through the summer months.... Cheap covers from Fleet
Farm or Menards, often on sale for about $20.

They are good for about one summer because they do not stand up to the UV
too well, but the do keep the sun and rain off the bikes.

Bike Bandit have had similar covers on sale for similar prices, I did buy
a couple of those, but they are not yet tested.

However, BikeBandit also sell other covers that are way more expensive,
and I think the old adage: 'You only gets what ya pays for' does ring
true more often than not!

I thick you should google 'motorcycle covers for sale' and see what that
brings forth. you probably will find some decent ones for about $50-60.

I second all of what Gabe said - I had one of those before they were Dowco (I forget the old name) and used it several years before I got a garage. The canvas is still good, but the heat shielding sheds/flakes something fierce. The most damage done to the cover was when a Chicago cop tore the lock gromet trying to get at my license plate to write me a parking ticket.

And trailering with a cover is bad news.

OH! I should also mention that the cover has a fantastic warranty. They'll replace it no matter what happens to it as long as you still have a part of it.
