मैं डेस्कटॉप में उबुंटू प्रयोग करता हूं। कुछ दिन पहले इसका नया वर्ज़न
9.10 पर अपग्रेड किया लेकिन तभी से SCIM गायब हो गया। इस कारण हिन्दी में
टाईप नहीं हो पा रहा है। इसमें SCIM कैसे करें।
SCIM तो होगा, वहाँ पर सेटिंग बिगड़ गई लगता है. scim-config-agent या scim-setup कमांड चला कर देखें. कुछ विकल्प मिलेंगे. या apt-get upgrade scim कमांड चलाकर देखें.

पिछ्ले 8 महीने से विंडोज 7 इस्तेमाल कर रहा हूँ (बीटा, आर सी, आर टी एम और अब
अल्टीमेट) और मुझे यह अब तक के विंडोज में एक्स पी के बाद सबसे अच्छा लगा। यह एक्स पी से
गति में थोड़ा धीमा है (समान हार्डवेयर में) और विस्टा से काफी तेज। इसमें चीजों को समझने
व ढूंढने में ज्यादा वक्त नहीं लगता। ड्राइवर भी समस्या नहीं देते।
जहाँ तक मैक की बात है ऑफिस की टेबल पर मैक रखा हुआ है लेकिन उसका इस्तेमाल काफी कम
करता हूँ क्योंकि विंडोज के बाद मैक में काम करने के लिये काफी कुछ अनलर्न करना पड़ता है।
लेकिन यदि टोटल कॉस्ट ऑफ़ ओनरशिप की दृष्टि से देखा जाय तो यह सब से सस्ता पड़ेगा,
लेकिन इसमें विंडोज की तरह पायरेटेड सॉफ्टवेयर मिलना लगभग असंभव है। मैने मैक में पार्टीशन
कर विंडोज 7 भी लोड किया हुआ है जो बहुत ही मस्त चलता है।
जहाँ तक लिनक्स की बात है घर के पीसी में उबंटू है जिसमें कमांड शैल में नहीं ही घुसना पड़ता
है लेकिन यदि कोई नयी चीज करनी हो जैसे नया सौफ्टवेयर इंस्टाल करना तो यह मेहनत का
काम है। अक्सर गूगल बाबा की शरण में जाना पड़ता है। यहाँ भी विंडोज से काफी कुछ अनलर्न
करना पड़ता है। यदि शुरुआत से ही कोई लिनक्स या मैक में काम करे तो उसके लिये यह बहुत
आसान होगा।
कुछ दिनों पहले गूगल के ऐंड्रौइड की लाइव सीडी मिली थी जिसे चला के देखा लेकिन यह मेरी
अपेक्षाओं से काफी कमतर निकला।
चलिये विषयांतर करते हुए मेरी भी चवन्नी (5 Cents)।
