Anyone else have problems using Chinese in some applications? I have
had this experience every once in a while but have a confirmed issue
that I wanted to report and see if anyone knows what is happening.

When I use the IRC chat application Linkinus, all other inputs work,
as does copy/paste of Chinese, but no direct input of Chinese using
QIM Soguo or the various Chinese input methods from Apple. Strangely,
in the keyboard menu, only Chinese input methods are dimmed, making
the choice unavailable, and cycling through the input methods by
keyboard skips them.

Best,

Konrad

Have you tried the "greater compatibility" option in QIM? I forget
where it is, but there is some such option which might help.

Thanks Kerim, I think you mean the "Improve compatibility with legacy
applications" option. That didn't work. I contacted the developer and
opened a bug ticket. I'm guessing that it is the app's fault. Thanks,
KML

Same problem here. I think it's a bug in linknus.

Great, Zhen Sun, could you add a ticket or, even better, add a comment
to my own so the developer knows that more than one person has
experienced this problem?

Same for anyone else who uses the app and notices this problem.

I'll check it tonight. In most cases, if ITABC can't work, then all
other Chinese input method won't work too.
