UPDATE:
Welcome to the Chinese FLES curriculum for kindergarten and first grade that is being developed collaboratively by the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington DC, the National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center at Iowa State University, project Chinese FLES teachers, and you -- experienced teachers of FLES and Chinese. We are posting the kindergarten thematic units out of order because we are changing the format of the thematic units and lessons to better address the principles of Backward Design (Wiggins. G., & McTighe, J. (2005). Understanding by Design [2nd ed.]. Alexandria, VA: Association for Supervisions and Curriculum Development) and find it more expedient to first make these changes on the units we are currently writing. Our goal is to revise to our new format and post in order all units for kindergarten before fall 2008. To learn how to post your comments, read the "Help with Posting Your Comments." Note that on Macintosh machines the Safari and Internet Explorer
browsers have trouble displaying the group correctly. We suggest you
