Howdy all.  It has been pretty quiet here since V2got announced.  Thought I would stir things up. I recently acquired my third and fourth Hirst Arts molds and have started casting to get my supply up. It got me wondering how many of us own molds and which kind. Which got me thinking that we could start a block exchange program. Here is a proposal (not fully thought out yet. So let me know what you think.):
1) I could build a spread sheet that has the molds along the side and everyone's name along the top and share it with those interested through Google drive.
2) everyone interested posts what molds the have.
3) if anyone needs casts of a mold they can contact the people who have said mold to arrange for trade of castings from Another mold or cash.
4) Bruce Hirst has a limit of sales one is supposed to do for owners of his mold. But I have never sold casts. So I know I am good for a while.
5) we could also start terrain days where people can meet and start using the casts to build terrain for their stores, AdeptiCon or themselves or just make use of people's molds and hang out while plaster dries. I just acquired 125 pounds of ultracal 30 from a friend. So we could make a deal for those who don't have a ton of money. I offer up to anyone who buys a mold that I do not have that I will share my UltraCal at an exchange rate of  one casting for you for one casting for me.

What does everyone think? At this point, I have four molds.  I will be buying more. I would prefer to buy ones others in the group do not have so as to maximise the pool of molds. I have:
Mold 58 common inn accessory mold
Mold 59 unique inn accessory mold
Mold 220 wood plank mold
Mold 50 a partial copy of wizard tower mold I bought off ebay

All right.  I decided to go ahead and build the spreadsheet since I have one other person that thinks it's a cool idea. It is done. So, let me know if you want in.

Sent the share link to Justin P. and Greg M..  Let me know if you did not get it. I put this in the comments.  but, if you are looking for casts of a mold, find the row for the  mold. in that row under your name in that row make the cell background red and put the number of casts you are looking for.  Then contact anyone who has the mold to work out a trade.  Also, make sure to input whatever molds you have and if you are thinking of getting more, let us know before hand to make sure no one has it already and forgot to enter it.

Thanks, I have been buying a couple at a time for a few years now but unfortunately I don't have all the time I would like to cast and build so hopefully having them available to a community will allow them to be used more.

I would gladly help you with castings if you want to loan me the molds. Just let me know how many casts you need of each. I have tons of time.  I just sit and watch tv in front of my pound table.

I mostly lurk here, since I don't have much time to go to games, but I would join in on the Hirst Arts exchange.
I have:

70 Fieldstone Wall Mold
71 Fieldstone Accessories Mold
72 4" Round Fieldstone Mold
73 6" Round Fieldstone Mold
74 Fieldstone Bridge Mold
250 Small Brick Mold
300 Station Builder Mold
301 Starship Wall Mold
302 Cargo Bay Accessory Mold
303 Med Lab Accessory Mold

I also have some Linka molds see http://www.linkaworld.com
These are smaller and a bit more difficult to work with, since they give much thinner casts.

B1 Standard brickwork sections
T1 Standard lapboard sections, gables, & coping
R2 Standard rough shingle sections, ends, & triangular section

I've also been playing with casting plaster in my Han Solo in carbonite ice cube tray, which is roughly in scale.

Thanks,
Tim Mayse-Lillig

Sorry for the delayed response, my daughter's team is still in the state playoffs for lacrosse and last night was sectionals.

Anyway, you are welcome to borrow whatever molds you like.

I equate the molds getting used to better boards being built which in turn means better terrain at local events as well as Adepticon and I am all about enjoying those times that I can actually get to an event as much as possible. A big part of the enjoyment for me is playing on boards with awesome terrain so I think lending the molds out has a very nice return on investment built right in to them.

So, if you can use them, just let me know which ones you want to borrow and we can work out the best way to get them to you.

Awesome attitude.  I am of the same mind. Just don't have as many molds as you yet lol. Let me get my current molds cast a few times and then I will meet up with you someday down the road.
