  The Droid X and several other Droids use a very dark default theme. Most &lt;br&gt; phones use a black foreground, and a light background. But, these do the &lt;br&gt; opposite. &lt;br&gt; My guess is that you are drawing black on black, making the foreground &lt;br&gt; invisible until the item enters onPressed state.
