Since the change to GDG prefix on all groups I thought it wold eb nice if
we had a new GDG Chicago Android Logo.
Is there any guidelines I need to follow other than if using the GDGD logo
matertials keep in the same spirit of things?

After using Pixelformer, I found it useful for setting pixel values,
including the alpha channel, in one operation, and specifying alpha values
in hexadecimal rather than percentages; however the move, copy, and resize
operations do not appear to work properly, and the export operation does
not store the modified file under the same directory that it was read

When I made games for Gameboy we used a tool called Pro-Motion. It was
hands down the best pixel editor since it was based on the old school tool
called dpaint..

It is not as feature-rich as Photoshop or Gimp, but it is better than MS
Paint, and it is easy to use. I use it for a lot of icons and simple
drawings. The magic wand tool can probably do what you want. Just google
around, you can find lots of tutorials.

I am looking for an image editor to edit icons and drawings down to
the pixel level. Photoshop is costly, Microsoft Paint doesn't handle
transparency, and GIMP (an open source editor) cannot select based on
transparency and doesn't allow direct entry of transparency values,
only percentages. I have started using Pixelformer, but have not used

If your popup is in response to a state change on the server, look into the
Android Cloud to Device Notification service. There are plenty of examples
online, some more useful than others. The C2D example code is also handy.
C2D is a Google service so your data will pass through Google servers.

pop up when the phone is asleep, then user sees it upon loggin. Same

They don't give away free phones but they do give great advice and they are

I like the android market format the best- but yes to iPhone and blackberry versions. Deluxe version already in the works. :-$

The drop down screen is white with blank lines.
Then when you touch the spot the words show up like a flash for a second and go blank again.

The Droid X and several other Droids use a very dark default theme. Most
phones use a black foreground, and a light background. But, these do the
opposite.
My guess is that you are drawing black on black, making the foreground
invisible until the item enters onPressed state.

You should be able to just change the manifest in your source
