Converting praat to chat

I have tried to convert a file created in praat (a textgrid file) to
the chat format using the praat2chat command, but the chat output file
that is generated is empty. The message I get looks like this:
Warning: Not using any attribs file: "attribs.cut", "C:\childes\clan
\attribs.cut"
Please specify text encoding with +o option.
CURRENT OUTPUT FILE "03_ENG1FC.S.cha" IS INCOMPLETE.
For some of my textgrid files, the conversion is successful, but for
others (as the one above), it's not. I have scrutinized the textfiles
that work and those that don't, to see if they differ in any way, but
there aren't any obvious differences. Can anyone help me solve this
problem?

praat2chat command looks for "attribs.cut" file to determine how to convert praat (textgrid) files. "attribs.cut" file specifies how to map praat tiers to CHAT tiers. It is possible to create praat file that praat2chat command can convert without use of "attribs.cut" file. CLAN is distributed with examples of both cases. Those examples are located in CLAN/lib/praat2chat folder. The "e2at01f321.textGrid" file can be converted without "attribs.cut" file.
Please, take a closer look at those example files to see how you can convert your files. If those examples do not help, then please email to me directly the file that you can't convert with praat2chat and I'll try to figure out what is wrong.
