Maybe because good grapes are plump, hence they can't be on a diet.

And more seriously, gtrapes hae a high natural sugar content. You
can't pump out the sugar and replace it with aspartame.

Most grape soda is artificially flavored. Even if it is made with real
sugar. Tastes like kiddie cough syrup of old, Dimetap.
