Subject: '59 Bel Air back seat
I am having alot of trouble finding a back seat. Any help please?
Also, is '59 Impala 2 door seat the same (dimensions only)? Can I
recover Impala seat in a way as to hide speaker area to make it look
correct for a Bel Air?

It is a 2 door sedan. I am in south Georgia. I have a seat in it from
a 4 door car that does fit just to get by until I find the right one.
Thanks, Richard

Are you sure it had a rear seat originally?

There was a salesperson's model that did not have a rear seat; it was
meant for carrying sales samples. I think that would be really cool
if your car was that way originally, to restore it that way. You
don't see them at all. I forget the model name of the car, but I
could look it up tonight.

This would solve your problem with the top half of the seat. From a
'60, but should be the same.

You'd still have to look for a bottom half.

I am in south GA. If your frames are from a 2 door car I could buy new
foam inserts and covers and make them work. I would be interested.
Thanks, Richard

Sorry, I forgot to answer your armrest question. The belair does have
a longer seat because the armrest does not interfere with the seat as
the Impala does.
