There is much groundwork to be done in the winter. Although the next market won't blossom until spring, this is the time to develop the roots that will sustain the market.
It's a challenge to eat locally in the winter. While trips to the store are inevitable, we hope to help you keep in touch with local food sources. Visit the "Pages" section on the right side column to find out how to order local bread and eggs during the winter months.
Interested in buying some local chicken, beef, or turkey? Have plans to start a backyard garden or do edible landscaping in the spring? Know of some other sources of local food? Have you read "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan? Share your thoughts and ideas in the discussions section.
Remember, this is a community endeavor. I hope that the vibrant and diverse spirit of Cheverly will take root in this groups site as well. You're always welcome to visit and take part in this experience.
