Cherokee Chatter
By Becky Wilcox - Cockrum
Folks in the Cherokee area continue to be blessed with some rain and the
Cherokee area is lush and green again.
EXCITEMENT! This word only begins to describe last Sunday
evening's service at Cherokee Baptist Church!
Returning from a week-long camp in the mountains of Glorieta, New Mexico,
a group of 35 youth and sponsors led FBC's congregation through a "typical day"
of Centrifuge Camp. From creative worship to group trust games that
developed close relationships to using sign language in worship, the youth group
creatively shared what God had been doing in their
lives.
The
evening's excitement concluded with the group's splashy blacklight puppet
presentation, "Power of God" which they had performed at the Variety Show that
week at Glorieta. Our community eagerly awaits the far-reaching effect
this trip will have in the lives of these young people as well as the life of
the whole church!
