Grocery Store by Saturday of each week.

Jeff and Ashley Cockrum celebrated their 12th birthday in December. Each had
a birthday party and celebrated the important occasion with their friends.
The are each looking forward to their next birthday when they become
'teenagers'.

Sue at the Cherokee Grocery Store has some new signs hanging in front of the
store advertising her home made bread, fresh brewed tea, sandwiches and
such. They are bringing in a lot of new visitors as anyone from the Cherokee
area can tell you. If you live in the San Saba County area and haven't had
lunch at the Grocery Store, her home made buns and bread are worth the
drive!

Cherokee Valley Nursery owned by Mary White is expanding in leaps and
bounds! New greenhouses will be going in this spring more than doubling the
size of the current operation. The poisettia's grown at Cherokee Valley
Nursery have quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best available
anywhere and sales of the Christmas beauties have grown exponentially every
year. Seasonal bedding, landscape and garden plants are another specialty
grown at Cherokee Valley Nursery and are distributed far and wide. It's
great to see local industry growing. Congratulations on your expansion!

Kenny Davenport, son of Becky Cockrum and Lt. Col. Rtd. David G Davenport

Degree in Criminal Justice and concurrently did a 6 year stint in the Army
Reserves, will be beginning his career in law enforcement as a Hay's County
Adult Probation Officer on January 4, 2005. Congratulations Kenny - We are
so proud of you!

'Children in Action' youth group from the Cherokee Baptist Church hosted a
New Year's Day Stew and Chili supper on Saturday evening. They did a superb
job. Thank you!
