Expression of Interest in InternetNZ's Christchurch Rebuild Funding Round not shortlisted. :(

Hi all,

Here's the email I just received:

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest in InternetNZ's
Christchurch Rebuild Funding Round.

InternetNZ's Grants Committee has now gone through each application
and I'm sorry to advise that your Expression of Interest has not been
shortlisted.

The funding round was heavily over-subscribed. There were 38
Expressions of Interest and, with only $435,000 available, the total
amount sought by all applicants was $2.7 million.

Shortlisting was a difficult task, with all applications being of a
high quality. Those that did make the shortlist were judged by the
Grants Committee to better align with InternetNZ's objectives.

Of course, this doesn't mean we can't go ahead with the container
Hackerspace concept--but it would require a big commitment in terms of
people & finances.

A shame. This would have been a great coup had you received (even some of) the funds, but I think we can make this happen regardless.
