What are the chances that a tiny village like Mayville (year round population approx 1,500) would have two women-musician owned music-themed restaurants?

Uptown Mayville, across from our Tops grocery store, concert violinist and gracious hostess Karen Simmons offers creative dining experiences, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, at “Music for Your Mouth.” She opened the restaurant a few years and has established a well-deserved loyal following. Reservations are a must. Come out on Saturday August 17th at 5:30 to grab a bite and/or a cocktail and hear my friend Bill Downe and his brother George Downe do a tribute to women singer/songwriters, will be a treat.

Accomplished pianist Rebecca Magnuson came up from Nashville a year or two ago, and bought the former Dick’s Harbor House where she created "She Sings” restaurant across from the lake on Rt 394. Stay tuned to her posts for upcoming events.

We are so fortunate to see our lovely Uptown Mayville coming back to life with shops like the Opera House Home and Gift, the Eclectic Bird, Handcrafted From the Heart, the Mayberry Jungle, and Uptown Mall. And also me, offering massage therapy. Did I miss anybody?
