What are the thoughts about someday getting one of those panel cutters on a wall (like at Home Depot or Lowes) to allow easy rips of plywood for the space?  Might be a nice addition someday.

Maybe if we get a fully functional woodshop we can make bulk purchases of certain plywood that members buy per sheet for projects.  MDF seems to be a universal project material these days.

Mdf is soooo dusty, but good for certain projects. I have been wanting
to build a panel saw for years. It's pretty easy to do I just don't
have the space. I like the idea of having a saw there though.

We do have the 4x8 CNC router, I've also considered adding an
interchangeable head that could do saw cuts.

Yes, very dusty, but stable.  I built the bottom of my stairs with mdf that I was able to mitre, sand, put drywall mud and paint it and it looks like a monolithic piece now.

I've played with the idea myself.  I was actuall thinking (at one point) of making one that hangs on the wall, but folds down onto a table and does the cut horizontally (flat).

A CNC would be cool, but would hate to wear out a spinning bit for a 96" straight cut, but I don't know enough about the hardware to know if that would be extreme or not.

If the space grows and there's room and budget, I think having some plywood available for people to purchase would cool for projects, but that's wayyyy down the line.

Not sure they'll panel saw cut MDF for you at HD. Tis toxic. I've found a guide clamp and good blade works wonders.

They have cut it for me in the past.  They have a dust collection system to take the dust out.
