For the first time in over four months, I've seen deer strolling across my floodplain. Three BIG bucks spent about an hour sauntering around the area early this afternoon, nibbling at shrubs here and there, mostly looking bored. All their antlers are still fuzzy, but not for long. I counted two 8-point bucks and one 10-point buck. I don't think they'll be quite so friendly with each other much longer.
Here's hoping they'll chase off the VERY FAT groundhog that seems to have moved into the same area in the last month.
Where are the coyotes and bobcats when you need them? ;)
