HELP CHAPLIN GET A 1KW PHOTO
VOLTAIC SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM
At the December 2007 meeting of the Chaplin Board of Selectmen, a
resolution was passed to join the SmartPower 20% by 2010 Clean Energy
Campaign. Not only does this send a message to the energy market that we
want clean energy for the long term, but it also makes an immediate
impact on helping to clean up the environment.
If 100 residents or businesses sign on by 2010, the Town of Chaplin is
awarded a 1KW solar array to be installed on a town building. The
present value of a 1 kilowatt PV system is at least $10,000.
On a personal note, my wife Pat & I signed up for 50% New Wind
Energy/50% Low-impact Hydro for our electric energy. Our utility bill
has increased about $6-$7 per month. We are committed to have an impact
on the future of our planet.
Presently 14.5 customers have made the change over. Help the Town of
Chaplin, help our environment and make a commitment to join SmartPower.

The Board of Selectmen has also formed an Energy Taskforce. This makes
the town eligible for grant money to help us get the word out. If you
have an interest in the energy future of the town, please consider
joining the group. We can have a definite impact on the cost of energy
in town.
