CFWheels without a database

I found some discussions dating back to 2009 but wasn't able to find any conclusions. Is it possible to run CFWheels without a datasource? Not declaring a datasource value results in wheels looking for a default datasource, and passing in an empty string results in wheels looking for a datasource with an empty string as the name.

What you're referring to is called Tableless models. It's working in 1.2 as I understand it, but that's a BETA at the moment  and we don't have any docs.
