Hey guys

I am trying to download farcry and I cannot believe how difficult it is.  I have not found one site that is just a “download farcry” link and you can just download the thing

Can someone help me out?

Has anyone tried this? It looks very cool...

1) To start a thread:

<CFTHREAD name="th1" key1="some key" key2="another">
<!--- any cfml code here --->
<CFSET x = attributes.key1>
<CFSET y = attributes.key2>
<!--- x and y are local to the thread and will not be visible
outside the thread --->
<!--- do something --->
<CFSET thread.msg = x & y>
</CFTHREAD>

This will spawn a new thread and any content between <CFTHREAD> tag will be
invoked inside that new thread.

2) If you want to wait for this thread to finish, you can use

<CFJOIN thread="th1">

Apparently not for production use but hopefully it'll be in CF8? All they
need is a ton of developers to say YES..

Yes, BD did have it first, but because they announced it before Scorpio was
settled it seems a good chance it will be added. In the meantime, the mod
offered by Damon certainly helps those who want to check out the concept and
indeed use it now in CF 7.02.

This reiterates a point I made many times while working for New Atlanta
(makers of BD) from 4/2003-4/2006: having a competitor helped all of is, as
it spurred Adobe (then MM) to be more open (telling us about new releases
before they were released, whereas before the betas were quote closed and
there was precious little discussion of new release features until it was
released), and of course it also means that BD serves as something of a
petri dish for Adobe: they can watch things added there and decide whether
to bother adding them to CF based on community interest. Of course, the same
went for BD, as they decided in BD 7 to not bother with the CFREPORT, Flash
forms, or event gateway features.

Anyway, as I've said elsewhere (and want to reiterate), I'm now no longer
working with New Atlanta. Just wanted to be on my own and be free to work
with all CF engines and users. Still friendly with them. No stories to tell
there. :-) Cheers.

Heh! I finally managed to integrate to quite good FCKEditor into
ColdUserGroup but still cannot get "file browsing" to work. Any ideas?
I followed the wikipedia instructions but they seem incomplete or
vague.

Peter, when you say you followed the "wikipedia" instructions, do you just
mean the FCK wiki, at
http://wiki.fckeditor.net/Developer's_Guide/Configuration/Built_in_File_Brow
ser? And did you see there the link to more specific directions for CF
folks, at http://wiki.fckeditor.net/ColdFusion? Just trying to clarify what
you already have seen, as people try to help.

Also, since your question seems very different from the subject under which
you asked it, I've changed it here. I realize some may answer your original
note before seeing mine, so the effort may prove fruitless, but since you
chooks should be in bed by now, perhaps some who read the list via a folder
will see my reply to you before responding. A guy can dream, right? :-)

Yes Charlie the FCK wiki. All the rest works great (I can upload
images, just the file browser doesn't work). And it loads heaps faster
than ActivEdit too.

OK, but are you saying you have tried the file browser test mentioned at the
bottom of the CF page?

I saw that tech note Charlie. It says in effect that you can't have
an onRequestEnd.cfm file that affects the FCKEditor.

That's a problem is the editor is included in a page that requires
OnRequestEnd for other reasons.

Also what if you use Application.cfc? That doesnt really work ok with
several Applicaton.cfc files around the site if you want them to work
together. In nearly all my sites i have a onRequestEnd method in use.
I guess that implies that I can't use the file browser anywhere?

I don't use or support the tool, if you're asking for my thoughts, Mike. I
was just responding to Peter's request for help when I found what appeared
to be a relevant post. It seems that it offers more than just that
conclusion to problems one can have, and solutions.

But if you're saying for him that it will never work, then I'll bow out and
leave it to others with more experience with the tool.
