Sorry a bit late coming to this conversation - some great tips being shared
here. I've had my MBA for about a year now and haven't looked back. There's
rarely ever a time I need a Windows PC. Some things I liked that haven't
already been mentioned are:

ResizeIt - image resizer
Stencyl - Scratch-like programming language

You can use QuickTime to record the screen (great for tutorials) free
Use Reflector(about 8€) to mirror ios devices to the mac screen, use QuickTime then as above, or for presenting in class.
BetterSnap Tool for Win 7 type 1/2 and 1/2 screen etc with 2 windows

Good rule-of-thumb is to take the number of people in the building and
multiply by 3. That is how many devices your wireless network needs to
support.
Do the reverse for ordering pizza ;)

Then there's Keynote for presentations (far nicer to work with than powerpoint)
I use Garageband & iMovie (sound & film editing)
and of ours the biggie - when I open the mac … it works - I don't have to wait a half hour for it to warm/load up :)

Hi Mark can't help directly but my experience of helping adult learners who
wanted to do simple websites has been that they found Google Sites
unintuitive but Weebly fine... that's about a year ago, upgrades to both
products may have changed the lie of the land.

Google's developer conference, Google IO is currently taking place in the
US. Lots of announcements today that I haven't had time to go through
fully.

One was in the area of Android where they are making a play for the
education market with a section in the Google Play store with curated apps

I am no expert with Google sites but I did use it to develop a website for
my local GAA club. The GAA signed up to use Google sites for all GAA clubs
and provided a template. I used it and found it very straight forward to
