Subject: Invitation - Drawing Minds Together: SIGMAC Launch
To:

Dear all,

The Psychological Society of Ireland's Special Interest Group for Media,
Art and Cyberpsychology (SIGMAC) will host Drawing Minds Together: An
Evening of Media, Art and Cyberpsychology on Thursday 23 May 2013 @6pm
followed by refreshments in the Drawing Project, an exhibition space and
workshop within the Faculty of Film, Art and Creative Technologies at
Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.

The aim of the event is to celebrate the establishment of SIGMAC and
explore the connections between psychology, technology, media, fiction,
entertainment, art and design through a series of presentations,
interactive experiences and accompanied by some music and refreshments.
The evening will introduce and explore issues around such areas as
cyberpsychology, video game violence, phenomenology and music, art
therapy, film and cyberterrorism through talks delivered by experts in
these areas. We hope it might also allow the attendees to begin to make
connections between psychology and any of the interest areas such as
technology, media, art, design, fiction, or entertainment.

We are very excited about the event and hope that you will be able to
join us.
If you can attend please register here -

Please feel free to circulate this too.

Kind regards,
Brendan Rooney
Chair of PSI Special Interest Group for Media, Art and Cyberpsychology
