I'm seeking to purchase an A3 colour printer for my school's art
department. It will be used for a wide range of projects including
printing photos, graphic designs and simple documents. Most of the
photos will be printed to regular paper, not photo quality. The nature
of the work will be batch orientated. A lot of printing one week and
then quiet for a few weeks, etc.
Might you have an A3 colour printer in your school that works well? I
open to either laser and inkjet.

While the initial cost of an A3 laser is substantially more you may find the
running cost less.
You need to estimate the amount of printing to be done before you decide
between Laser and Inkjet.
If you have another inkjet in your school doing similar printing check the
stationary and ink cartridge cost and usage over the past year.
From those figures you can ask your supplier to estimate the saving, if any,
by using a laser.
I know OKI had, and may still have, a special Academic Price for A3 colour
laser printers.
I know many schools using inkjet and many schools using laser but possibly
more using laser.
The main brands would be HP, Epson, OKI and Brother.
I would be interested to know how you get on!!!!
