Is there a way to import a dicom dataset which has oblique image
slices into CERR?

The z-value of the images seems to be coming from the 3 element in the
dicomtag "ImagePositionPatient".
However, if the slices are oblique, this gives an error (the 3rd
element is the same for each slice, at least in the dataset that I am
looking at). Also, although tag "0020 0037" is read in (which is
ImageOrientationPatient), it looks like it is not used anywhere?

thanks.

Hi Patricia,

Currently cerr cannot import oblique slices. We had a discussion about
it a while back and decided it was not a priority. I will check with Dr.
Deasy.

Aditya

Thanks for the quick reply. Maybe you could add an error/warning
message when reading in image that tells the user that they are trying
to import an oblique dataset, and that the results will not be
correct. What happens right now (at least for my dataset) was that
the DICOM import completed without errors, but every slice was
assigned the same z-value, so that it crashed when I tried to open the
plan in the CERR viewer.

Good suggestion, Patricia. We should display an error/warning message for such datasets.
