I still keep getting the issue, "Problem communicating with your device" on my Galaxy S3, even with V2.3 Beta.
There is definitely internet connectivity as I have Firefox open on the phone and am browsing a web site. Shouldn't this be enough for Cerberus to connect to the Cerberus server?
I think the phone, even though is connected to the internet, has lost
connection with Google servers. If you open Google Talk on the phone, when
you receive the "Problem communicating with your device" error, is it
connected?

Talk seems to be disconnected but this seems to be a problem with ice cream sandwich and jelly bean. However, why did Cerberus still manage to take and send the picture and report the action to the control panel? how does Google Talk connect to the Talk server?

I don't know, never experienced this issue on my devices with ICS/JB (Nexus
S, Galaxy Nexus, HTC One X and a Xoom tablet).
The fact is that commands sent from the web dashboard are delivered to the
device via C2DM (https://developers.google.com/android/c2dm/), so a
connection with Google servers is required, while photo captured
automatically (for instance on wrong unlock code entered) are sent directly
to Cerberus servers. To sum it up:

OK.. Thanks for the explanation. I don't know why, but Google Talk is unreliable on my Galaxy S3. Usually after booting up, Google Talk connects just fine. However, later in the day, I would lose connection. Even after Logging out and Logging back in, I would still have the "x" in front of my name, indicating that I'm offline.. This is very frustrating since Cerberus relies on it to see the phone and send commands. I guess there's nothing that can be done about this..

I have similar problem here with Sony Xperia X10. I think it's a ROM problem, 'cause sometimes with some ROMs it works without any problem, but other times, with other ROMs, it doesn't. The odd thing is that I use GTalk, GMail, and other Google apps, and they work without problems. So it seems that with this ROM it doesn't work.
Is there a way to get a logcat or something similar of cerberus to maybe see what's going on?

this much-vaunted application is not bad, but it has many bugs like all the others. 1 - max internet signal, server google, Google Talk, etc. on. But have nothing to do. The device is connected when they like and do not connect if he does not like ... I checked: everything works perfectly, google talk, server, internet, ... response in two cases: comunicatione device problem ......
A solution (works sometimes) is switc to another device and then return to the first.
2 - The audio recording is returned three times and two no ... here internet and google have nothing to do. The server Cerberus does as he pleases ..... depends if you are nice .....
It is not possible that ALL servers run (talk, wattsapp, Viber, kakao, internet, tim, wind, vodafone, Juventus and Milan) AND ONLY THE SERVERS CERBERUS not find the device! please do not make fun of

Luca I too have a Galaxy S3 and I'm receiving the "Problem communicating with your device". I have no app called Google Talk on my phone and when I search the Play Store for Google Talk or Google Talk for Android I am offered Google Voice. Are they one in the same?

Dears, I have Problem communicating with your device error almost all time. Have tried with Nexus S and also with 2 different Nexus 4.
What i realized is that problem appear when the screen is off, and when requesting an action from the Dashboard (taking a photo when incorrect password works).
Also, google talk its connected with google servers and other services running in background correctly (whatsupp, facebook).
Any idea? Really appreciate your guidance as make the app almost unhelpful.
Thanks.

In my case the APN was not correct configured. My provider here in Brazil is Claro, then I had to make the correct configuration. Once I did it the phone worked with no problems. Bellow are the steps:
1 - Go to Config 2 - More 3 - Mobile Network 4 - Access Points --> APNs
Then I configured to Claro (my provider).
Best regards.
