MITEF Chicago Oct, 29 Event: Is Green Real or a Passing Fad in Chicago ?

How will Chicago , the City in a Garden, maintain its reputation as a leading city in green and sustainable initiatives, from building standards to manufacturing processes? Come find out at 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Oct. 29 as the MIT Enterprise Forum Chicago chapter hosts a panel and conversation on the state of green initiatives in Chicago at the offices of Bell , Boyd & Lloyd LLP, 70 W. Madison St. , Chicago .

The City of Chicago boasts more Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified (LEED) buildings than any other city and has more than four million square feet of green roof projects either completed or underway. Yet overall energy prices are now lower than many places in North America , an abundance of fresh water, and the price of oil now dropping along with the downturn in the economy

How real or how likely can we expect businesses greening to get? Our panel will cover the past, present, and future while discussing the costs, requirements, regulations and the technology investments and opportunities to become sustainable today and in the near future. Watch your email for more details.
