Dear EHNWG Nutrition members and CCCM information manager

The Camp Coordination and Camp Management cluster has requested our input
for the monitoring of the displacement sites under their mandate -
collective centres, spontaneous settlements, formal camps. They have
requested for "ranking" of the indicators, whereby I propose to split the
nutrition indicator ranking depending on the type of supplementary feeding
provided.

Please find herewith my suggestion for the ranking - but please, members,
give your further feedback directly to the CCCM cluster, preferably today.

Supplementary Feeding (wet-feeding (tick) / dry rations (tick)),
0= no supplementary feeding (SF) programme at all
1= irregular dry rations of SF for HH, fuel not ensured,
2= regular dry rations of SF for HH, fuel ensured
3= regular dry rations of SF and fuel ensured, separate child meal cooking,
but no active feeding observed
4= regular dry rations of SF and fuel ensured, separate child meal cooking
and active feeding observed
5 = regular dry rations of SF and fuel ensured, separate child meal cooking
and active feeding observed, referral system for Severe Malnutrition in
place

Supplementary Feeding (wet-feeding)
0= no supplementary feeding programme at all
1= wet-rations but poor hygiene, poor targeting, inconsistent ration sizes,
and no feeding supervision or eating utensils
2= wet-rations with good hygiene, but poor targeting, inconsistent ration
sizes, and no feeding supervision or eating utensils
3= wet-rations with good hygiene, and consistent targeting/follow-up, but
inconsistent ration sizes, and no feeding supervision or eating utensils
4= wet-rations with good hygiene, and consistent targeting/follow-up,
adequate ration sizes, as well as feeding supervision or eating utensils
5= wet-rations with good hygiene, and consistent targeting/follow-up,
adequate ration sizes, as well as feeding supervision or eating utensils,
referral system for Severe Malnutrition in place

I have skipped the original idea of a nutrition indicator for nutritional
status, because this is too difficult to observe. Nutrition cluster will
put nutrition surveillance in place.

As mentioned before, as a reminder to all: from tomorrow the role of
Nutrition Cluster focal person will be temporarily taken by Pragya Mathema,
after which a permanent replacement will be assigned.

Kind Regards,
Monique Beun
