Backing plate under rope clutches

I have a question into Catalina but I was wondering if anyone already has this info. I'd like to add a rope clutch alongside the existing ones on each side of the seahood. I know there is a plate embedded in the glass to hold the existing ones. Does anyone know how big that plate is?
