Getting first and last record of a map

Hello !

I'd like to know if it is possible to extract the first and last record of each map used in a cascading job. I understand the whole point of cascading is to abstract from map/reduce and express jobs in term of function. I would need this however because this is only way to identify the input split corresponding to each map (I am using the mongo-hadoop connector : https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-hadoop).
