1) Plan for Moon Sighting Announcements
Today, Sunday the 31st of August is the 29th day of Shabaan. This is
based on the start of Shabaan being the 3rd of August in North
America. The links we used are now on our website under the "Links"
tab on the left side of the homepage.
We used these to determine the start of Shabaan back in early August
so that we can accurately perform Ibadath on the 15th of Shabaan, the
blessed Nifs-e-Shabaan's Shab-e-Baraath, being the night of Saturday
August 16.
This evening, night of August 31st, one should attempt to sight the
moon to determine the start of Ramadan. Inshallah we will do the same
and then make an announcement, at the latest, after the moon has set
in western part of North America.
To be informed of our announcement, we kindly request you sign up for
the mailing list by either a) emailing us your email address to
webad...@carymasjid.org or by signing up for our mailing list on our
website. Additionally, updates will be posted on our website in the
evening but due to heavy traffic it may have issues loading.

3) Qibla Ceremony & Pledges
Alhumdulillah many people showed up for the Qibla Determination
Ceremony held last weekend. We set the Qibla, prayed Asr Salath, and
had a BBQ. Those people that pledged towards Masjid Operational
Funds, please contact the masjid or Brother Abdul Khader - Qaiser to
fulfill their pledges.
4) New Families Refugee Update
There are two more political refugee families in our community that
are in need of our help. We need all sorts of help for them.
Furniture, clothing, and groceries. We also need volunteers to drive
them to various places, like marketplace, social security office,
Medicaid, etc.
We appreciate the help and effort that you provided to Br. Abdul
Hameed's family from Iraq.
We have two more opportunities to gain Allah’s favor:
a. A family from Burma is here in very dire conditions – literally
they are helpless – financially and food and shelter wise as well. On
your behalf we have leased an aprtment for them and now we need
financial help to sustain their financial needs.
b. We have also committed to support another family from Iraq –
this is widow with two children. We are committing rental for three
months.
All this comes from your Sadaqah and Zakat money. As we approach
Ramadhan, please allocate some of your Zakat funds for helping local
community. Inshallah it is for the right cause. May Allah Subhana Wa
Tala accept our good deeds.
Please contact the masjid at (919) 460-6496 to offer you assistance.
