Rhonda Sherman is a great resource for us, and apparently the entire
nation. Who ever dreamed someone could make a career out of worms!
But their benefit is proven and easy, worms are a great way for small
scale growers to have access to the rich nutrients of compost made
from their kitchen scraps and recycled newspapers. Tyler Chadwick of
Tyler's Worm Farm in Newport (
http://tylerswormfarm.yolasite.com/) has
information and links also about how easy this family-friendly
activity can be in a small plastic bin. Don't subscribe to
newspapers? get free papers for worm food outside of the Carteret
News Times building on Bridges St, MHC. Don't have time to wait for
worms to digest your leftovers? Call Tyler for some of his beautiful
compost or worm tea (made from the compost, not the worms!).
