Lt. Governor Phil Scott to unveil the “Vermont Strong” car in practice laps Wednesday & press conference Thursday

Lieutenant Governor and champion stock car driver Phil Scott will represent Vermont in the ACT Invitational this Saturday at New Hampshire International Speedway. He has re-designed his racecar with the “Vermont Strong” logo, which has come to represent Vermonters uniting and rallying to rebuild, at an astonishing pace, after Tropical Storm Irene.

Lt. Governor Scott considers this race an opportunity to promote Vermont tourism and celebrate the Vermont spirit before a crowd of 100,000 race fans from all over New England and the nation. He is offering the local media two opportunities to cover the story this week, before he leaves for Loudon:

PLACE: Thunder Road Speedbowl, Barre
PRESS CONFERENCE

DATE: Thursday, September 22
TIME: 1:00 PM
PLACE: Comfort Inn, Berlin (just off Exit 7)
Lt. Governor Scott will unveil the car and talk about his hopes for promoting Vermont tourism at the ACT Invitational.
