CLP- Knoxville is having a HUGE event on December 5. Please tell everyone you know!

Saturday, December 5, 2009
12-3
CLP- Knoxville
400 Brownsville Rd.
Pgh. PA. 15210
412.381.6543

Puppets for Pages will present a puppet show, as well as have a table for children to make their own puppets. Puppets for Pages (http://www.puppetsforpages.org <https://exchange.einetwork.net/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://exch...> ) "a volunteer-supported campaign run by Pittsburgh puppeteer Flora Shepherd and community activist Katrina Struloeff in response to the first time Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has ever closed any of it's branches"

Brian O'Neill, columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, will be been selling and signing copies of his new book, "The Paris of the Appalachians: Pittsburgh in the 21st Century." The books will cost $17 and Mr. O'Neill is donating $5 of every book sold to the CLP- Knoxville branch.

We will also have light refreshments, a face painter, and a balloon twister. I am also working on getting a local fire company to bring their truck up (always a HUGE draw.) All local politicians, non-profits and business owners in the Hilltop Community will be invited. Bon Air Early Childhood Center is also getting involved by having their classrooms do artwork about why they love the library. The artwork will be displayed in the Knoxville branch in time for the event.

Everyone thinks the Knoxville & Carrick libraries were "saved." In a way we were, but we still have to drastically cut our hours and staff. Please support your neighborhood libraries! If you have any questions please do not hesistate to contact me at 412.381.6543 or email wal...@carnegielibrary.org

Thank you!

Suzy
