Whereabouts of "The Alley"
|
| |
I've been contacted by somebody who's ancestor appears on the 1881
census at an address called "The Alley".

Alley" must have been somewhere near the green, but I can't be more
specific.
Do any of you know exactly where "The Alley" was in Carlton?... more »

Carlton starch mill

I've had an enquiry from Maxine Woodcock in Canada who had ancestors
Duncan McDougall and Mary McIntyre who married just prior to the birth
of their first child in 1820 at a starch mill in Carlton.
Does anybody have any idea where Carlton starch mill was located?
Best Regards, Jon.

the New Bell Inn in North Carlton still exists in any form? It is hard... more »
