Hello Jane and all,
My Hyland stuff is totally undeveloped. My great great grandmother was
Eliza Hyland b. 1801/2 I don't know where, who married Michael
Germaine about 1836, I don't know where. She died in 1841 having had 4
children in 5 years (enough to kill anyone), all bap.Rathvilly Co.
Carlow, Michael's place of origin.
There seem to be few Hylands in Carlow; none in the IGI and one in
Griffith. However there are quite a lot in Leix and Kildare, so I'm
presuming she must have come from either of those counties, probably
from a parish fairly close to Carlow.
Any clues will be welcome.
